POLICE in Calne threatened to tow a vehicle away after being forced to close a road this morning after it was blocked by a careless motorist.
The driver parked the red vehicle right in the middle of Anchor Road at 11.30am this morning and left it so that no-one else could get round.
The car was parked in such an angle that it made the narrow road impassable, so officers closed off the road in response until the owner could be found.
In a post on Facebook, police urged the driver to return to the vehicle as soon as possible.
They said they had closed off the road and had called for a recovery vehicle to remove the car.
Their post read: "Vehicle blocking the road in Anchor Road. If you are the owner or know them, please ask them to return to their vehicle.
"Road has been closed and recovery have been tasked. Many thanks."
It is not known why the driver left the vehicle in that position or when he or she returned to move it.
