A HOUSE that had just been sold has been trashed by a car crashing through the front of it.

The Volkswagen Passat ploughed into the living room of the cottage in Westbury Road in Bratton.

Turnpike Cottage in the small village near Westbury had just been sold under offer by Winkworth Properties, and had a guide price of £335,000.

The two-bedroom home's front reception room was left severely damaged with the wall and window caved in - and the car was still protruding from the building on Friday, November 4.

The house is a key fixture of the community's history as it dates back to 1780, and it is the first time it had come to market in 20 years.

The house has been taped off by Wiltshire Police.
