A second person has died after a serious four-car crash north of Swindon.

The woman, in her 30s and from London, was rushed to Southmead hospital in Bristol following the crash, which occured on the B4425 near Aldsworth, Glos, shortly after 12.45pm on Friday.

She had suffered serious injuries, and died overnight. Police say her next of kin has been informed.

The death was announced on Saturday afternoon as Gloucestershire Police continued to appeal for information.

It comes after a man in his 50s from Cirencester was pronounced dead at the scene.

A total of ten people were taken to hospital after the crash, including three to hospitals in Bristol and Oxford with serious injuries.

Police said a number continue to receive treatment, whilst others have been discharged.

The four-car crash involved a grey Mini Cooper, a black Audi A3, a grey Polestar 2 and a black Seat Leon.

It happened on the B4425 at Riversmeet North, between the Coln St Aldwyns and Eastington turnings.

An 18-year-old woman, who had previously been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would like to hear from anyone who hasn’t already been spoken to and who have may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles involved prior to the incident.

"Anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which they believe would be relevant is also asked to make contact."
