Temperatures have dropped dramatically recently, with residents in the town very much feeling the cold inn their day to day lives.

This is not scheduled to change anytime soon however with the Met Office predicting cold weather to be present in the next three days with predictions of temperatures barely rising above freezing the norm.

Several yellow warnings have been issued for the coming days - though none in this part of the country.

“Staying cold or very cold, with further wintry showers. Freezing fog is likely in places, this slow to clear. Severe frosts likely by night,” read the Met Office’s report regarding Saturday, November 10, through to Tuesday, November 13.

The Adver reported earlier this week that the Wiltshire town could be facing a blanket of snow in the following days as temperatures dropped but so far residents have been plagued with light frost only.

Not everyone in Swindon is unhappy with the lowering temperatures and the possibility of snow on the way.

Kristina Cedikova, 41, is a resident of Gorse Hill and has been affected by the changing weather across the town.

“It only really affects my car which I have to defrost obviously to start the engine for work,” she said.

“I enjoy the colder weather actually, it’s currently blue skies and a proper cold air which is how it is supposed to be at Christmas time.”

This colder climate is likely to stay with the Met Office’s long range forecast warning of temperatures only starting to rise towards the end of December.

The report on the Met Office website read: “Conditions may be widely changeable, with some spells of rain, and at times snow.

“These expected to be accompanied by strong winds, initially focused in southern parts but affecting all areas at times.

“Colder and more settled conditions with occasional wintry showers could continue, particularly in the north.

“Temperatures gradually returning closer to average towards the end of December and start of January.”

This is somewhat in accordance with what the BBC have predicted for Swindon in the coming weeks.

After the next week of cold weather continuation, it is said that temperatures will rise from Sunday, December 18, onwards.

The week following will feature higher temperatures of six and seven degrees making the build-up to Christmas more bearable.

This is of course subject to change but will make for happy reading to those affected by the dramatic drops in warmth this week.
