POLICE have arrested two more teenagers after a stabbing in Royal Wootton Bassett on New Year’s Day.

On Monday evening and in the early hours of Tuesday morning, offices took two 14-year-old boys into custody on suspicion of violent disorder.

Neighbours noticed a police helicopter flying over West Swindon at around 1am.

As of Tuesday afternoon, one boy remains in custody while the other has been released on bail.

This comes after an assailant stabbed a 15-year-old boy on Ruxley Close at around 4pm on Sunday January 1.

Offices then arrested three teenage boys – a 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old – on suspicion of violent disorder, and later handcuffed the victim for the same reason after he left hospital on Monday.

They also arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All five suspects have since been bailed while Wiltshire Police continues carrying out enquiries.

A/DS Natalie Stride of Swindon CID said: “We understand that this is an incredibly concerning incident for the local community and we are taking it very seriously.
