BOTTLES of the popular Prime drink created by two YouTubers are being re-sold online by Swindon shoppers at eye-watering prices.

Aldi customers in Swindon queued up before stores opened last week so that they could snap up the hydration drinks, which sold out within 10 minutes at the Rodbourne branch.

Following the manic scenes at supermarkets across the country, the Adver took to Facebook Marketplace and found some of the sought-after refreshments posted at much higher mark-ups than the original £2-a-bottle price.

A collection featuring one bottle for each of the seven flavours sold in America is being listed for a whopping £999, with no offers so far since it first appeared three weeks ago.

Meanwhile, one ambitious - and possibly not entirely serious - seller claims to have a full pallet of the drinks which would be swapped for a house or hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash.

It would make the buyer "the talk of the town", according to the seller.

The listing claims: “Genuine pallet of that juicy Prime goodness for sale, not looking to sell as individuals.

“Looking to swap for a three-bed house in old town or 500k in cash. This is a chance of a lifetime, you could own all this and it only costs you 500k! You could be the talk of the town!

“Due to the value of the product, it's not kept onsite, it is currently kept at a Swindon bank so we would need to meet in town to go through with the transaction. First to see will buy.

“Good luck and remember: Never be a shepherd, always be the sheep.”

Even the legitimate offerings cost more than its RRP, with a crate of the ‘US meta moon’ flavour on sale for £55, and three lemon-and-lime bottles could be yours for £45 (after being generously discounted from the seller’s initial £60 price).

The cheapest available options are for a fiver, or free if swapped for another flavour.

YouTubers-turned-boxers KSI and Logan Paul launched their Prime hydration refreshment earlier this year - and some buyers have tried to re-sell it for more than 500 times its retail price on eBay.

Up until now, Asda had the exclusive rights to sell Prime, and it proved to be such a popular product that the chain put a three-per-person limit on sales.

But as of Thursday December 29, Aldi is now able to stock the drink in similarly limited quantities.

It is not known when a new batch of the product will be making its way to the supermarkets' shelves.
