A new trail has been launched in Swindon town centre with the aim of showing off some of the shopping area's art and culture.
The new Arts and Culture Trail for the New Year has been launched by inSwindon BID and aims to capitalise on the success of last year's first-ever Swindon Paint Fest which saw several renowned street artists and muralists descend on the town.
It began on Thursday, January 12 and will carry on throughout 2023.
The focus of the trail will include creative murals, statues and sculptures, and light and mosaic installations all dotted around the Town Centre.
inSwindon BID has told people to expect an eclectic mix of stunning, large-scale artwork that is 'unique and thought-provoking'.
Anita Bellinger, inSwindon BID’s Executive Director said: “The trail is for all to enjoy and the experience is an opportunity to be outdoors and explore the town whilst getting some exercise, stopping for refreshments and a little retail therapy along the way.”
There are printed and downloadable versions of the map for the art trail experience in the Town Centre. The physical maps will be available to pick-up from the following outlets:
- Artsite & The Post Modern, Theatre Square
- Swindon Central Library, Regent Circus
- The Community Hub, The Parade
