Here is a summary of the latest planning applications submitted to Wiltshire Council.

Christian Malford: The Village Hall in Christian Malford, Station Road may be replaced by a new village hall.

The plans say the structure of the current building is difficult to maintain and the new one will be bigger and more structurally sound.

In the application for planning permission, it says: “For some years the village has wished to replace its existing village hall with a new hall that would better suit the needs of the community. The project over many years made little progress due to a lack of suitable sites before considering redeveloping the existing site.

“The building needs to be updated to cope with the demands of the many clubs and associations that use it. It is the responsibility of the trustees to ensure that there is a Village Hall for future generations.”

Further, it says: “A new hall should be larger, more accessible, manageable and seek to solve the deficiencies of the existing hall, whilst remain as flexible as possible."

There will be disabled access and facilities for the theatre group.

Tidworth: The Ashdown Centre on Drummer Lane in Tidworth which was once a family day centre may be turned into three separate houses.

The proposal is to restructure the building to create three three-bedroom properties.

In the application it says: “The building is ‘T’ shaped and lends itself well to sub-division into 3 properties, each being within an existing ‘wing’.

"The existing lobby will be sub-divided to provide an entrance hall for units 1 and 2 and unit 3 will have a new entrance with a porch canopy roof at the rear of the building.

"There are two areas of garden at the rear of the property and this outdoor space will be sub-divided to provide private outdoor space for each of the three properties."

Great Cheverell: A bungalow at 85 High Street in Great Cheverell may be demolished and replaced with two new bungalows.

The two bungalows will sit across the front of the site, fronting onto the High Street.

Each will have three bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, diner and family bathroom.

Pedestrian access will be to the front of the site.

Each dwelling will be provided with four car parking spaces and turning areas.

Each of the new proposed dwellings will be served by a garden of at least 50 sq metres.

Upper Chute: The Cross Keys Inn in Upper Chute may be demolished to make way for a new home.

The Cross Keys Inn has been closed since 2017 and the plans say it has been vacant ever since.

The proposal adds: “It benefits from an extant planning permission to convert it to a single residential dwelling, but it is in a poor state of repair and has been the subject of vandalism and break-ins in recent years.

“The wider site is characterised by large areas of hardstanding, overgrowth and has suffered from fly tipping on a number of occasions.”

The new house will be built where the pub is and will have a front and back garden.

Extensions: Applications have been submitted to extend houses or build outbuildings or convert garages and lofts into habitable rooms at: The Farthings, Marlowe Way, Royal Wootton Bassett, 28 Middle Lane, Cherhill, Calne, Springbourne House, High Street, Shrewton, Cleeve Grange, Trowbridge Road, Seend, Melksham.
