A driver caught doing donuts in a car park right next to pedestrians has been fined.

Zackeriah Gordon was caught pulling the driving manoeuvre in the car park off Bramble Road, Kembrey Park, on May 29 last year.

It happened during an illegal car meet which took place that Sunday.

The 23-year-old, of Shrivenham Road, Highworth, was given seven points on his driving licence.

He was also fined £660, ordered to pay £110 court costs and a £66 victim surcharge.

A statement from Wiltshire Police said: “We continue to proactively respond to illegal car meets and will not hesitate to prosecute those involved in associated antisocial behaviour or dangerous driving.”

Just days after this incident, a partial closure notice was put in place across much of Kembrey Business Park.

Also covering Techno Trading Estate and Elgin Industrial Estate, it came as part of Wiltshire Police's crackdown on illegal car meets.

The reports to police stated vehicles were speeding, racing, creating loud noises, wheel spinning, drifting, and numerous reports of criminal damage due to the vehicle leaving burn marks on the ground.

The order lasted three months and prevented those without a valid reason using the area during certain times.
