The eight-to-10-week-old puppy, with a long list of health problems, was found alongside its brother in a cardboard box in Stinkpot Alley, Salisbury, by a dog walker on Tuesday morning, January 31.
One puppy's health was significantly worse than the other and Pet Practice Vets, in Churchfields, hospitalised him.

The healthier brother was taken to Bath Cats and Dogs home where he is being cared for.
The two mixed-breed dogs had suffered burn marks on their paws.
Tom Rhind-Tutt, from Pet Practice Vets, said the puppy's paw injuries have become necrotic and the tip of his tail will need to be amputated.
Tom added: "They should heal but will take about two weeks or so of antibiotics and cleaning to regrow.
"The tip of the tail has suffered an ischaemic injury this means where the puppy was so cold and dehydrated the end of the tail has effectively died."
Blood work has shown that the puppy also has anaemia from being riddled with fleas, low protein levels from malnutrition and the possibility of kidney damage.
He has been fostered by one of the receptionists at Pet Practice and he is eating and drinking.
"He should make a recovery but with a slow road and potentially with some longer-lasting effects of his past," added Tom.
