A NEW dance music festival is coming to Lydiard Park this summer.

The event called RCADIA announced it's arrival to the town on Friday, February 3, along with the first few artists that will be joining its line-up.

The festival will be bringing some of the biggest names in Drum n Bass, R&B, Electronic, Techno, Rap & Dance to the West Swindon country estate on Saturday, August 26, for one day only.

Among the first few acts announced for it is Sigma, one of the biggest Drum and Bass artists in the world, with global sales of over 7 million. He will be performing a DJ set in the dance tent.

Joining Sigma will be some of the hottest names in drum and bass and dance including Ibiza Rocks resident and BRIT nominated DJ and producer Nathan Dawe, electronic music legend DJ Fresh, and special guests, Darkzy & Window Kid.

The organisers behind the Mfor festival and Pimms in the Park appear to be behind this new event, as the Facebook page for the former Swindon event has been repurposed as the RCADIA page and it says 'group by MFor festival' on it.

RCADIA's Twitter handle is also @MforSwindon

Mfor enjoyed several successful years at Swindon's Lydiard park with a host of names like Craig David, Ella Henderson, Sigala and Years and Years just some of the big names drawing huge crowds

But the growing cost of living crisis and confusion caused by the cancellation of another local festival, Live at Lydiard, meant that the organisers had to make the 'heart-breaking' decision to pull the plug on last year's planned event.

Steps, James Arthur and Tinie Tempah were among the line-up for that event.

News of RCADIA's arrival has been met positively by Swindon music goers with one saying "Now this is what we want to do this summer, this looks epic."

Another added: "This looks so good!"

RCADIA will take place from 1pm - 11pm (gates open 12.30pm).

There will be a licensed bar, thrill rides, street performers and walkabout characters and food and drink sellers.

Tickets will be £40 and the event is open to over 14s only and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets go on sale on February 17 at www.rcadia.uk
