YOBS have daubed graffiti on equipment in three Royal Wootton play areas.

The town council posted on their Facebook page on February 8: “This morning while our grounds team were out checking the play areas, they unfortunately came across graffiti in Showfield, New Road and Otterway.

“It is all the same tag and so appears to be one person or group that are responsible for the vandalism to the parks.

“The town council have contacted the police and are searching through the CCTV footage that we have in the parks to identify the culprit(s).

“If you have any information about this vandalism, please contact the Town Council on 01793 850222 or enquiries@royalwoottonbassett.gov.uk”

Graffiti vandals in play parks have been a problem in the town before.

In June and July last year, the town council reported several incidents of graffiti, including on several play parks, Borough Fields public toilets and Old Bank Antiques on the High Street.

But after CCTV footgage was reviewed by officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team four youths were caught and were told to write apologies letters for their offences.
