Friends Martin Wright and Jon Gregory are hoping to ace it when they attempt a 24-hour tennis marathon to raise money for Cancer Research.

The pair, who have a combined 30 years of coaching service at Pewsey Tennis Club where they are both lifelong members, are planning to play as many games as they can each hour.

Their marathon starts at 10am on April 1 and finishes at the same time the following day - the opening day of the season.

Martin said: "An enormous number of people are affected by cancer in some way during their lifetime.

"Most families are touched by cancer in some way, ours amongst them, and we want to try and take on a challenge that will inspire people to donate money to help anyone or any family that cancer affects. The aim of our event is to raise funds to help the amazing work carried out by Cancer Research UK."

He added: "We are extremely grateful for every donation and would love you to come and support or play us during our long 24hrs on the tennis court."

They've set up a fundraising page at justgiving.com/fundraising/martinandjon24hrtennis and have already raised more than £500 towards their £2,000 target from friends and supporters.
