We asked readers their memories of where they used to spend their nights out in the county.

Hundreds of people got involved with the conversation on Facebook, many reminiscing about the good old days and reflecting on the best places to hit the dancefloor or grab a pint.

Lots of people had their firm favourites, it seems...

Jennifer Leach: “The Flamingo club and the Astronauts club.

“A very long time ago.”

Georgina Pegler: “Reflections every weekend.”

Lisa Perry: “Poo nahs... loved that place.... and the Chapel for my sins.”

Christian J Wakeham: “Capones, the Junction, Pee Wees, King’s Arms, Snooker club, Goldiggers and the Brunel Rooms in Swindon.

“Can’t remember the name in Trowbridge on the same street as Kings Arms at the beginning was the Warehouse I think.

“There was also Reflections So many back then. And of course Oscars and the UFO Club for some messy dancing.”

Sue Tabor: “Can’t remember the name but it was in Catherine Street, Salisbury- tiniest dance floor ever.”

Janet Gray: “I was at the Brunel in Swindon with a rotating bar, and I kept getting confused with it moving.”

Steven Wilcox said: “Trowbridge snooker club. A terrible, but interesting experience.”

Kickin Kaz: “Ooh that’s a difficult one because I think I probably went to them all around the same time.

“I did Wiltshire clubs in my mid to late twenties so Goldiggers on a Thursday, maybe Boss Hogs on a Friday and sometimes Flamingos on a Saturday? Dire!”

Andy Laye: “Axe and Cleaver is a car sales place now.

“Great pub though, back in the day.”

Linda Mansfield: “I went to Lord John’s in Devizes around the late 60s.

“Also used to see famous bands like The Who at the Corn Exchange.

Libby H Bromwich: “Probably Goldiggers back in the day when bands started their UK tours there and Radio 1 DJs turned up on a weekly basis. Good times!”
