A Swindon nightclub has been closed for good after its landlords took back control of the building.

EvoCafe Bar and Nightclub had been in the former Spot-On Models and Games building on Fleet Street since the end of 2021, but as of February this year, it now sits practically empty.

The bar is still inside, and some of the sofas are still there, but the inside is mostly bare, and a television that was on the wall has been removed.

A notice has been posted on the building's front door, indicating that the building's landlords had to take back control from the tenants.

This said: "To Cerasela Ciobanu and Lona Mirela Volcan

"TAKE NOTICE that Mr Adam Stevenson and Mrs Rachel Townsend the landlords of these premises have today re-entered therein in accordance with their power to do so and as a consequence of such re-entry the premises have been secured.

"AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that no person may lawfully enter onto these premises unless they have been authorised by the above Mr Adam Stevenson and Mrs Rachel Townsend.

"Any attempt by any person to enter these premises with the previous authority of Mr Adam Stevenon and Mrs Rachel Townsend may amount to a criminal offence and result in prosecution."

The notice was posted on February 15 and also contains contact details for commercial property consultants Kilpatrick and Co for further enquiries about the property.

It follows a post made on the EvoCafe Facebook page in late January announcing that the club was up for sale.

The post was made on January 29 and was written in Romanian

When translated to English, it said: "Hello there dear ones. It is with regret that I would like to inform you that the EvoCafe club is up for sale, due to a new project in progress, I no longer have the time nor energy to take care of the club.

"I hope there will be a compatriot with an entrepreneurial spirit who will continue to take care of him. For more details, please contact me in private."

EvoCafe now joins a list of nightlife venues in the Fleet Street area of town that have closed including Liquor Lounge, Lava Lounge, Groove.

The Adver approached Kilpatrick and Co who said they couldn't comment further.

We have also attempted to contact EvoCafe Bar and Club, but have not had a response.
