Police have launched an operation to catch red-handed drivers that are ignoring no entry signs on a narrow hill.
Clack Hill in Bradenstoke used to be accessible in both directions, but concerns about traffic and HGVs led the council to add extra restrictions to the route.
The measures were put in place following a major landslip at the B4069, Lyneham Banks, which meant that the road had to be closed on a long-term basis.
A weight limit came into force last March, and Clack Hill became one-way in October.
The only access is from Bradenstoke down the hill in the direction of Dauntsey Lock.
Any motorists found going the wrong way could get a £100 fine and three points on their driving licence.
And yet, police keep catching drivers ignoring the no-entry sign at the bottom of the hill.
In January, they issued a reminder of the new rule on social media and warned that anyone ignoring it could be putting themselves and other drivers in danger.
On Tuesday, Royal Wootton Bassett Neighbourhood Team officers conducted a traffic operation using an unmarked police vehicle and a marked police car at the top of the hill to catch law-breaking motorists.
A spokesman said: "The signs are there for a reason. Please don't risk it!"
