Police have revealed why there were long delays on a stretch on the M4 on Friday night.
Drivers using Junction 16 of the M4 on the evening of Friday, March 3, found themselves experiencing long delays.
This caused people to leave their cars to see what was going on.
Reasoning for why this delay has now been explained by the police who have issued a statement on the matter.
Wiltshire Police said that they attended a 'welfare concern incident' shortly before 11pm on Friday.
The woman in her 30s is now receiving care.
In a statement to the Adver, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We attended a welfare concern incident on the M4, near to junction 16 at around 10.45pm on Friday night (March 3).
“This involved a woman in her 30s, who is now receiving appropriate care.”
