A car is stuck wedged on its side outside a historic city centre hotel after crashing through railings in the early hours of the morning.
An investigation is under way after the incident, which happened in Bath at 4.47am on Sunday (March 19).
One of the occupants of the car, a Kia Picanto, was rescued by a crew from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, while a second occupant had got out of the car by the time emergency services arrived.
The car is left 5ft into the basement alleyway of the Francis Hotel in Queen Square.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and he’s been released on unconditional bail so further enquiries can take place.
An onlooker said: "The hotel was open for business but the car was and is still a bizarre sight with onlookers coming to take look."
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We’d like to speak to anyone who saw this collision, or who may have any dashcam or mobile phone footage which may be relevant to our ongoing investigation. If you can help, please call or contact us online.
"If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223063989, or complete our online appeals form."
