Swindonians have been left perplexed after a trio of small bins appeared tied to a lamp post without any explanation.
Cricklade Road in Gorse Hill is a busy and bustling part of the Wiltshire town, being the home of several businesses.
One unexpected addition to the area though has caused confusion among residents and councillors alike.
Two irregular bins have been tied together to a lamppost at one end of Cricklade Road beside the Transfer Bridges roundabout.
One of the pair is a red metallic can that’s lid reads: “Non-recyclable and food waste, keep rats away, please replace bag.”
The other is a grey plastic container that instead reads: “Cans and bottles only please.”
After materialising unannounced, the bins have left residents none the wiser as to where they came from.
Swindon Borough Council confirmed that it was not something that they are involved with when asked by the Adver.
The Adver has also approached Central Swindon North Parish Council.
If you know anything more about the mysterious bins, please share the information with us by emailing ed.burnett@newsquest.co.uk an update.
