MEET Chester and Queenie, the Dogs Trust's dogs of the month who need rehoming in Wiltshire.

Three-year-old "cheeky" Chester loves to play both on his own with his toys or with his "people pals".

He is an independent crossbreed who would be happy in an adult-only home that has a suitable and safe outside kennel or outbuilding space that he could call his own.

However, with time, he could gradually be transitioned into a home.

Chester's new owners will need to be patient to get to know him at a pace he's happy with.

He's a bit worried by other dogs and wears a muzzle when out on walks, so this is something for his owners to be aware of.

Sweet Queenie adores being outside and on quiet walks.

She is an eight-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who's happiest in the company of people she knows.

Hoping for a quiet forever home to relax in, Queenie is very affectionate and will be a wonderful companion to the right family.Swindon Advertiser: Queenie.Queenie. (Image: Dogs Trust)

She can become worried when left on her own, so her new owners will need to be around most of the time.

Queenie would also likely need to be the only pet in her home.

Her new family will need to be willing to continue with her house training and walk Queen with a muzzle on – something the team at the centre have worked with her on and she’s done well in.

Charity Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity, with an emphasis on its non-destruction policy.

Their main goal is to work "towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction."
