King Charles III is set to be coronated this weekend and several Swindon pubs and bars will be live screening the event.

The royal will officially be crowned in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

A procession will proceed throughout London as the Charles is crowned King and the nation will watch on as history is made.

The whole event will be broadcast across national and international television with the eyes of the world firmly fixed on the UK this weekend.

The Kop Bar

Victoria Road is home to the sports-themed watering hole, The Kop Bar, which will be hosting its very own coronation party on Saturday.

“We want to welcome everyone to come and enjoy the coronation at the Kop Bar from 12pm onwards,” said owner Sadik Ali.

“We will be screening the event inside the bar and doing cakes, scones, and games with karaoke starting at 7pm until closing time.”

The Recreation Ground, Highworth

Highworth will be celebrating the King’s coronation at the Recreation Ground with live coverage of the event from London.

There will also be face painting, a fun fair, and a fire truck as well as a variety of food and drinks.

The day of entertainment will start at 10am and finish at 4pm.

The Blunsdon Arms

Thamesdown Drive’s The Blunsdon Arms will be live screening the coronation event on Saturday.

The Glue Pot

Emlyn Square’s The Glue Pot will not be screening the coronation but are celebrating with a very special drink to mark the occasion.

“We have a special coronation beer called Hopback Coronation Ale and we have the union jack up bunting,” said barman Guy Lovelock.
