Concerns have been raised over the roof of Swindon Designer Outlet after it was hit with major leaks throughout last week’s wet weather.
The outlet is owned by McArthurGlen and can be located at Kemble Drive, having been a staple in the town since 1997.
From clothes shops to restaurants, Swindon Designer Outlet is home to some of the biggest names in retail allowing locals to get themselves a bargain and have a day out.
Yet the building was not operating normally throughout Saturday, May 6, as several buckets could be seen throughout the outlet along with wet floor signs.
Swindon had seen a lot of rain and thunderstorms throughout the bank holiday weekend and this had resulted in the roof leaking.
But it was not just the one bucket or sign but many, all dotted around the building suggesting a wider problem with the outlet’s roof.
The building that houses the centre is the restored Great Western railway works, which McArthurGlen has honoured over the years by housing several steam locomotives.
Water could be seen dripping at a fast pace from the roof throughout Saturday, hinting at a structural issue.
The Adver has approached McArthurGlen for comment.
