A sentimental sticker of a Swindon dad who died in a motorcycle accident has been spotted in Bournemouth.

Shane Whitson was a passenger on Daniel Hackett’s Suzuki motorcycle traveling on Ermin Street in March 2022 when the rider lost control.

In October of the same year stickers began to appear across the town of Shane’s face as one of the Swindonian’s best friends, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Adver he made the stickers to help him through his grief.

He said: "He is missed by so many of us and this helps."

Responding to the news at the time, Graham Guppy said: "Miss the little man so much - Ella, your dad is famous."

Sheila Brown added: "Shane would have loved this."

Now in 2023, one of the stickers of Shane’s face has been spotted quite some distance from Swindon.

An Adver reporter was in Bournemouth for the weekend and was surprised to see the sticker attached to a street sign between the town's famous pier and lower gardens.

The reporter said: "I remember seeing these stickers around Swindon and had to do a double take at first after seeing it so far away from Wiltshire - it's lovely that his memory is living on far and wide."
