Visitors to Swindon's courts have been leaving bad reviews about the buildings online.

The town's halls of justice have received low ratings from Google users, which appear whenever anyone searches for information about the courts.

Swindon Magistrates Court has an average rating of 2.3 out of five stars based on 10 reviews.

One month ago, a user calling themselves Scum Lord gave it two stars and described it as a "justice casino".

On the other hand, Tuff Traveller gave it the full five stars a year ago, adding: "Brilliant court. Guess the bad reviews are from criminals that got sentenced lol."

Aaron James gave it the same rating and said: "Searched me at the door like at an airport so make sure you're ready to give up all objects to be screened. Once through, I was seen pretty swiftly."

Three years ago, Kiall Fenn rated it one star claiming that "they make you plead guilty even though you say not guilty".

He added: "Absolutely nothing but jokes. I feel sorry for everyone that has to go here as they don’t care."

Meanwhile, Swindon's Crown and Combined Courts has an average rating of two stars based on 23 reviews.

Four years ago, TrevorB59 rated it three out of five.

He said "Really helpful security staff. Listings are a bit shambolic. Almost locked into the magistrates court!

"Listing shifted between family and magistrates court and back again. God help anyone who isn't familiar with the routine!"

Four years ago, Jo Courage gave the court four stars.

She said: "I needed to contact them to get a copy of a decree absolute.

"Yes, the fact that I had to wait for 12 minutes before someone picked up the phone was annoying, but once I got through the lady I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful or efficient.

"She had me sorted in a few minutes and copies of the document were in the post the same day.

"An impressive service once you actually get through to someone. My advice, be patient."

One year ago, user Y05405 submitted a one-star review, which said: “The misandrist judge was clearly biased. Complete farce of a process.. If it wasn't so serious, I would consider it a joke."

Elsewhere, in wider Wiltshire, Salisbury Crown Court has a higher average rating than either of Swindon's criminal justice hubs, with a score of three out of five stars, based on 10 reviews.
