A cyclist who was 'towed by a car' before falling off has suffered potentially life-changing injuries.
The man in his 40s was on a red pushbike in Spa Road, Melksham at around 6.35pm on Wednesday (May 31) and is said to have been holding on to the side of a moving vehicle.
He was airlifted to hospital for treatment after the incident.
The driver of the car left the scene but was found at a nearby property.
A woman in her 40s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and for drug driving.
She remains in custody for questioning.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses to either the collision or for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the lead up to it.
“Anyone who can help is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 0282 of May 31.”
