A cat has been amusing Swindon residents after it was spotted fast asleep while inside a supermarket trolley.
The ginger cat, whose name is Toby, has a love of exploring and is often seen around parts of West Swindon, his owner told the Adver.
Toby was sleeping in the baby seat of a trolley at the Asda store in West Swindon when a driver spotted the adorable scene.
Mandi Donachie was driving past with her husband Vince at around 11.45am on Sunday before stopping and rushing to take a photo of the cat.
“We drove back round and back into the car parks to have a look as it looked like a fox from a distance,” said the 58-year-old.
“He got out to check that it was okay and the cat just lifted its head up, meowed and went back to sleep.”
Toby’s owner Lucy Butler of Westlea confirmed that he is nine years old.
“Toby is a very friendly cat he loves to explore within this hot weather so when I saw the photo of him I was like what's he up to now,” she said.
“Many members of the public think he is lost or injured and every year he is taken to the vets only for the vets to find out he fine and call us to pick him up.”
