Sanitary products will be offered to the people of Swindon for free as part of a new initiative to tackle period poverty.

The Pride Hub, which has been based at Regent Circus since September of 2022, is providing the products free of charge.

Products include period pads for different flows during both day and night which have been provided by All Yours, a period poverty organisation.

Claire Tilney, from Greenmeadow, volunteers at the Hub and helped devise the idea alongside a range of committee members.

“I have been part of the Pride Hub since March this year and it was important for me to give back to the community and oversee a safe and inclusive space to talk,” said the 30-year-old.

“I have supported the organisation for offering these free period products and I was really pleased to see us do this.

“We know that period poverty is present in the UK and we want to give support to people that need this help.”

Tampons and reusable period products have been donated in the name of Bobbie French, a beloved grandparent of committee member Lou and a passionate advocate for inclusion.

The Pride Hub is open every Saturday from 11am to 4pm and the products can be found inside, free to the public.
