A man has been arrested after a motorbike stolen in Wiltshire was recovered during a police raid.

The brand new off-road KTM motorcycle, worth £9,000, was reported stolen to police after a burglary at a property in Great Bedwyn on Monday, July 17.

The vehicle, which was taken from a garage at the property, was tracked to a lockup in Brent where two other stolen bikes and a Kubota farm vehicle were also found.

Officers from Wiltshire Police’s burglary unit arrested a man in his 40s, from Cricklewood in London, after further CCTV enquiries led to his identification.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody.

Det Sgt Ted Roe said: “We are pleased to have been able to trace the stolen property and have identified a suspect in relation to this high value crime through a combination of determined and skilled police work by our dedicated team.

“Burglary is a really invasive crime and can have lasting emotional impact over and above the loss of property.

“Hopefully being able to return the stolen property will go some way towards reducing the impact of this crime for the victims and reassuring the public.”
