Bella the dog has been missing from Royal Wootton Bassett for two days, despite multiple sightings.

Residents of Royal Wootton Bassett and surrounding areas have been searching for a missing dog since she ran away on Sunday night.

Bella, a nervous brown and white German Pointer, ran away from her owner Josh Powell after she was spooked on a walk in the New Road area.

She has since been sighted multiple times on Longleaze Road, Cloatley Crescent, Windmill Road and Noremarsh Road – but locals have been unable to bring her home.

Now police patrols, concerned locals and SAR For Lost Dogs UK have joined the search, using infrared cameras and drones to help locate Bella.

The eight-year-old dog was last seen at 5:30pm at Vastern Wharf opposite the Wiltshire golf course and hotel, but her owner Mr Powell has urged locals to stop approaching her.

“My dog has been missing for two days now and it’s becoming increasingly hard to pin her down the more she runs,” explained Mr Powell.

“I think she has been on the move so much because people are trying to catch her and it’s freaking her out. She’s a very nervous dog.

“The main advice that I’d like to give to people is just to contact 101 as the police have my details and can contact me straight away,” he added.

Although there have been no more sightings of Bella today, anyone who thinks they may have seen the spooked German Pointer is urged to stay away and contact police on 101 immediately.
