Several new homes have been unveiled in a Swindon development which features its own sports pitch.

The Badbury Park development is around four miles away from the town centre and its 48 new houses have been built by Persmmon Homes.

These new properties include one-bed apartments alongside two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Of the homes, 29 have been advertised by housing provider GreenSquareAccord (GSA) as having affordable rent whereas the other 19 are through a shared ownership scheme.

Persimmon Homes Wessex managing director Julian Roper said: “We hope this significant community contribution will help alleviate pressure on the local housing list.

“We are pleased to partner with GSA to deliver this increase in provision for the people and town of Swindon.”

The Badbury Park development contains a sports pitch, maintained perimeter foot paths and space for allotments.

Cllr Janine Howarth, Cabinet Member for Housing at Swindon Borough Council said: “We are delighted to be in partnership and enabling GreenSquareAccord to work with the developer in delivering quality affordable housing to those on the Council’s waiting list.

“The Council is committed to increasing the numbers of affordable housing as a key priority to support those unable to buy or rent privately.”

Badbury Park is located close to the M4 and has Coate Water Country Park on its doorstep.
