The following cases were heard in Swindon’s courts earlier this month.
SWINDON: Junior Mitch, of Brunel Crescent, has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £75.70 train fare on May 18.
The 25-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £88 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Cyrus Roberts, of Hollydale Road in London, has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £99.35 train fare in Swindon on May 1.
The 26-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £88 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Michael Williams, of Lonsdale Avenue in Weston-Super-Mare, has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £86.20 train fare in Swindon on April 14.
The 58-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £88 to fund victim services.
PARK NORTH: Carter Hambidge, of Dawlish Road, has been sentenced for a driving offence.
The 20-year-old changed his plea from not guilty to guilty in regards to a charge of driving a Citroen Saxo along Dorcan Way without insurance on July 14, 2022.
He has been banned from driving for seven days and ordered to pay a £240 fine as well as £90 in court costs plus £96 to fund victim services.
TROWBRIDGE: Byron Ahle, of Westfield Close, must pay a hefty sum for travelling by train without a ticket.
The 22-year-old used a Great Western Railway service on May 8 without paying the £6.60 fare.
He must now pay a £220 fine, £180 in court costs, £88 to fund victim services, and £6.60 in compensation.
TROWBRIDGE: Trying to dodge a £3.30 train fare has left Oskar Pawel facing costs of £491.30.
The 28-year-old travelled from Westbury without paying for a ticket on May 10 and must now pay a £220 fine along with £3.30 in compensation, £180 in court costs, and £88 to fund victim services.
MARLBOROUGH: Jody Ralston, of Ogbourne St George, has been sentenced for driving without a licence.
The 75-year-old drove a Mercedes SLK along the A346 in Chiseldon on January 13 and did not have a valid licence.
She received three penalty points and a £111 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £44 to fund victim services.
CRICKLADE: Nina Austin, of Common Hill, has been sentenced for failing to hand over a train ticket for inspection when required to do so.
This offence happened in Swindon on April 18. The 45-year-old must pay a £220 fine as well as £44.60 in compensation, £88 to fund victim services, and £180 in court costs.
WARMINSTER: David Linton, of Wootton Gardens in Bournemouth, has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £52.80 train fare on April 14.
The 52-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £88 to fund victim services.
TROWBRIDGE: Billy Willis, of Cotlands Road in Boscombe, has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £30.80 train fare in Trowbridge on April 14.
The 28-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £88 to fund victim services.
TROWBRIDGE: Jody Young, of New Road, has been fined £40 for failing to pay a £62.40 train fare in Westbury on April 4.
The 28-year-old must also pay the value of the fare in compensation along with £180 in court costs plus £16 to fund victim services.
