A man was arrested for drink driving close to a Wiltshire McDonald's after swerving on the road.
The incident occurred at around 8.15pm as the suspect was driving on the A4 between Corsham and Chippenham.
He was seen swerving on the road which included going into oncoming traffic and up on the grass verges.
A member of the public reported the incident to officers who then located the vehicle stopped close to McDonald’s in Chippenham.
The 36-year-old driver was breathalysed and provided a reading of 168 micrograms, more than four times the legal limit.
He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was taken into custody where he remains for questioning.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Drink driving is one of the Fatal Five [which are] the five offences which are the main contributing factors to serious or fatal collisions on our roads.
“If you suspect somebody of drink or drug driving, please call 101 or 999 in an emergency and give as much information as possible including a description of the driver, vehicle and direction of travel.”
