A fallen tree branch has smashed the window of a car parked outside a Swindon primary school.
The incident happened on Quarry Road during Tuesday afternoon after a Town Garden tree’s branch snapped and fell.
A grey Nissan Micra parked on the street was hit by the branch which smashed the vehicle’s back window.
Concerns have been raised in the past by nearby residents about the sheer size of the trees in the area.
Andrew Leeser feared for children and parents at the nearby Lethbridge Primary School after a tree branch hit the side of his house on Friday, June 16.
“These are big heavy trees that are likely to be over 100 years old and it would kill someone if a branch like that landed on them,” said Andrew at the time.
“By 8.30am this part of the road is busy with mums, pushchairs and kids going to the local primary school.”
Both incidents of fallen branches were reported to South Swindon Parish Council amid fears of future problems.
A parish council spokesperson said: "Regarding the fallen tree in Quarry Road, we believe this is an isolated deadwood incident.
“We are already in contact with our tree contractors to come out and assess the tree in question as soon as possible to avoid this happening again.”
