These nostalgic snaps show Swindonians enjoying fine dining, American-style, in Shaw Ridge during the 1990s.
Pinkertons - not to be confused with the motorcycle club based on Greenbridge Road - served up next to the cinema off Whitehill Way.
A model of a Ford car from the 1920s hangs over the entrance to the restaurant, while its interiors are full of wood panelling and seating, warm amber lighting, as well as decor reminiscent of a TGI Fridays.
Assistant manager Gavin Cox and deputy manager Mark Lafayette ran the place from the start of the decade, which is also when the entire Shaw Ridge complex - including tenpin bowling and the Cairo nightclub - first opened its doors.
Photos from the Adver archives show happy staff and customers by the bar and getting ready for their meals to arrive.
The business changed its name to the Exchange Bar and Grill in March 1999 and is now home to The Ridge bar and grill.
Is there anything you would like us to feature from Swindon's past?
