Swindon residents have been left confused and frustrated after hundreds were left without a TV signal.

Locals suffered Freeview outages on the morning of Tuesday, October 10, with reports peaking shortly after 7am, when at least 119 people in Swindon reported they were unable to get a signal.

Swindon is currently one of the most reported UK locations for Freeview issues, according to Downdetector, alongside London and Southampton.

On Monday, October 9, Freeview warned that viewers in parts of the country may face disruption to their TV reception on both Monday and Tuesday due to high pressure winds.

Multiple residents from across the town have taken to Facebook to voice their frustration at the situation and have claimed their signal has been poor for several days.

One person said: “TV signal down again in Hayes Knoll. Is it just us we have had problems all weekend.”

Another Facebook user posted in the Lydiard Millicent community page: “Is anyone else having problems with outages on their television?”

The problems have also hampered those living in the towns surrounding Swindon.

Len Goodhew, from Leigh near Cricklade, claimed he and many of his neighbours have suffered intermittent outages for two weeks leaving him unable to “watch anything”.

Freeview added reception should be restored once high pressure passes.
