A new hair salon has opened in Swindon after a mum fulfilled her lifelong dreams.

Glow Up Hair Studio on Morley Street in the town centre officially opened its doors to customers on Tuesday morning.

Hannah Patterson from Coleview, who has a long history in the hair and beauty sector, founded the shop after chasing the idea for years.

Although she has been hairdressing since the age of 16 years old, the new salon is her first-ever business venture of her own.

“This is the first time I have owned my own shop but I have been hairdressing for 18 years and have been renting a chair for the last 10 years at another local salon,” said Hannah.

“It has always been my dream to open my own salon and I felt it was the right time to do it now after being delayed by Covid.”

The 34-year-old snapped up the shop as soon as she spotted it but a lot of work was needed to get it in a state to open to customers.

“When the shop came up for sale it was perfect for me but it needed extensive renovation works but I’m fortunate enough to have a family of tradespeople,” said Hannah.

“Everyone pulled together to bring the shop up to be a modern and stylish hair studio, leaving me so pleased with the end result and I hope my clients enjoy spending time in it as much as I do.”

Hannah is joined at her new business with three stylists including two which she has worked alongside for the last decade.

Together the team will offer a wide range of services from cutting and colour to hair extensions and balayage.

“K18 hair treatments are something we carry out which is a molecular hair repair treatment as well as a range of men’s treatments,” said Hannah.

“I’m constantly looking to upskill and will soon offer men’s transformation hair systems.

“We have created a relaxed friendly environment for people to unwind and feel pampered as we want our clients to be treated extra special and give them a five-star experience.”

There will be an open evening on Friday, November 10, where customers will be invited to meet the team and have a look around the new salon.

“We will be giving away some samples, holding a raffle and giving hair advice on the day,” said Hannah.

“A 20 per cent discount is available to new clients throughout October and November when booking via 01793 547033.”
