Poppies will be displayed on Swindon buses this month.
Swindon’s Bus Company is showing its support for the Royal British Legion by displaying the remembrance emblems on its vehicles throughout November.
The Poppy Appeal is the RBL’s annual fundraising initiative, which starts in late October and runs through to Armistice Day on November 11.
Managing director Andrew Wickham said: “People in this area are rightfully proud of our country’s military - as is the team here at Swindon’s Bus Company.
“As part of this community, we are keen to show our support for all those in the services.
“The work our troops do in unimaginably hostile war zones is incredibly humbling. And we hope, by proudly displaying our poppies and raising awareness for this worthwhile cause, we’re backing our words with actions.
“Our drivers will also be pulling over, if it is safe to do so, at 11am on Saturday November 11 for Armistice Day and at 11am on Sunday, November 12 for Remembrance Sunday as a mark of respect to observe the two minutes’ silence.”
