Moredon Primary School has been recognised for its work in teachers' professional learning by the General Teaching Council for England.
The school was highlighted as a shining example of how continuous professional development for teachers can be used to benefit a whole school and its pupils at a national conference held last week.
Keith Bartley, chief executive of the GTC praised the school during a speech at the conference held in Birmingham.
Teachers at the school created a document - your learning journey to new horizons' - allowing staff to review their decision-making and aspirations with each other and their pupils on a daily basis.
Lauren Connor, headteacher at Moredon Primary said: "We were thrilled to have our hard work recognised by the GTC.
"I will look forward to welcoming Keith to our school to see what we have achieved."
