Mum’s favourite supermarket giant has announced plans to recruit thousands of workers ahead of the busy festive season.
Iceland has created 1,750 new part-time and full-time jobs for retail assistants and delivery drivers, to help cope with the additional 100,000 delivery slots available to customers this Christmas.
This marks the store's biggest ever festive recruitment drive.
“I’m excited to share our commitment to recruiting even more people from within the communities that we serve,” said Helen Tindle, HR Director at Iceland Foods.
“We’re building opportunities for people, and offering a chance for talented, energetic individuals to become part of our Iceland family and make a meaningful impact for our customers at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK.
“We support our colleagues as much as our customers, offering training, benefits, and growth opportunities.
“At Iceland, we’re not just opening the doors to our customers, we’re opening doors to a brighter future for our team members.”
Swindon has four Iceland stores, which are offering roles such as home delivery driver, retail assistant and supervisor.
Starting pay for delivery drivers at Iceland is £11.42 per hour, whereas a retail assistant can earn between £9.50 - £10.42 per hour, and supervisors £12.42 per hour.
The frozen food company has emphasised that previous seasonal employees have landed permanent roles with the retailer following the festive period.
