The Christmas festivities seem to be coming around earlier and earlier each year, as towns across Wiltshire are already gearing up for the season.

And what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by wandering the stalls of a winter market with the smell of mulled wine and cinnamon in the air?

This year, multiple markets around the county are bringing together local traders, unique handmade gifts for our loved ones, and hot tasty food and drink.

With that in mind, we have put together a list of some of the best Christmas markets across Wiltshire that are worth a visit this festive season. Make sure you don't miss them.

Christmas markets in Wiltshire

Made in Bradford Winter Market.

The Made in Bradford Winter Market is back for another year in Bradford on Avon.

This market offers stalls filled with handmade jewellery, art, ceramics and gifts, so you can find the perfect gift for your loved one. Tea, coffee and cake will also be supplied by Alzheimers Wiltshire.

Where: St Margarets Hall, Bradford on Avon BA15.

When: Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 10am to 3pm.

Corsham Christmas Market

Christmas is coming to Corsham this December as the town is preparing to turn their High Street into a Christmas Market on December 1.

The market will start from mid-afternoon, with live music outside the Town Hall later that evening, before the big light switch-on event at 6pm.

Where: High Street, Corsham, Wiltshire.

When: Friday, December 1, 2023, 3pm to 7.30pm.

Devizes Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade

With a festive market running throughout the day, Devizes Christmas Festival attracts crowds of thousands for a lantern procession through the town.

This year, organisers have promised a river of beautiful creations made by local talent, which will wind through and around the town.

The exact timings of the market and parade will be released later in November.

Marlborough Festive Market and Light Switch On

As part of the town’s Christmas light switch-on event, Marlborough will be hosting a Christmas market that runs throughout the day.

This will be accompanied by live music on the town hall steps, a Santa’s grotto, and festive food and drink.

For those wanting to see the light switch on event specifically, this will take place at 6.30pm.

Where: High Street, Marlborough.

When: Friday, November 24, 2023, 10am to 7.30pm.

Ramsbury Brewery Christmas Market

Partnered with local charity Brighter Futures, this Christmas market will be raising money for Great Western Hospital, as well as raising Christmas spirits.

The Christmas food and artisan market offers stalls, children's rides, and the opportunity to meet Santa, free of charge. It's not one to be missed.

Where: Ramsbury Brewery, Marlborough, SN8 2NN

When: Saturday, November 25,  noon to 6pm.

Salisbury ‘Christmas on the Square’ Market

Officially the biggest Christmas market in Wiltshire, Salisbury’s Christmas Market transforms the city into a sparkling showcase of local artisans, food stalls and live entertainment.

The market will remain open until New Year’s Eve and is the perfect place to pick up unique gifts and soak up the festive atmosphere.

Where: Guildhall Square, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

When: Saturday, November 18, to Sunday, December 31, 2023. Open 11am-7pm, except for Christmas Day.

Swindon – Christmas at STEAM

Christmas at STEAM is back for another year, with over 50 Christmas market stalls set amidst STEAM’s iconic GWR locomotives.

From hand-crafted silver jewellery, glass artworks, traditional games, decorations, chutneys and more, there is a unique gift for everyone at these market stalls.

Live entertainment will also be available throughout the weekend.

Where: STEAM Museum, Swindon, Wiltshire.

When: Saturday, December 2 to Sunday, December 3, 10am until 5pm.

Trowbridge - Weavers Christmas Market

Trowbridge's Weavers Market is a volunteer-run market held every month, but this December they are coming together for a Christmas special. The market will bring independent traders, live music, arts, and street food to the centre of Trowbridge to make this festive season one to remember.

Where: Fore Street, Trowbridge.

When: Saturday, December 9.

As well as this, the town will also host an indoor market in the Civic Centre on November 17 and 18 to coincide with the Christmas Light Switch on.
