A Swindon school has announced an emergency school closure for the rest of the week due to a “gas issue”.

Lydiard Park Academy took to their Facebook account on Wednesday, November 29 at 3.56pm to announce that the school will be closed for the rest of the week.

An on-site gas issue has caused for the school to be closed on Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1.

Further information about the closure has been sent to parents and guardians of children that attend the school.

The Facebook page details that two school trips will still be going ahead and that pupils should still meet at the school at specific times to attend these trips.

Free School Meal packed lunches will also be able to be picked up. It just seems that pupils will be unable to physically attend the school due to the gas issue.

Lydiard Park Academy have been approached for more information as well as a comment about the issue and if the problem will have any affect on the school and its opening times in the following week.
