Police have given an update on a suspected serial graffiti vandal.

It comes after residents complained that the suspect was vandalising the town in several different locations including Old Town.

Recognisable with a signature symbol as well as the number 42, the alleged vandal was captured spray painting a shop in Angel Ridge.

The tagged shop’s CCTV images appear to show the suspect spraying paint onto several sections of the property including the shutters.

Officers have now confirmed the dates as to when they believe the vandalism was committed and that people can still get in touch should they know more.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of graffiti in Westlecot Road, Swindon, which occurred sometime between October 21 at 7pm and October 22 at 12.30pm.

“Enquiries have been conducted and we would urge anyone with information to contact us on 101 and quote crime reference number 54230111919.”

According to residents, the police were unwilling to act on the issue when it was initially reported to them.

“It’s been reported to the police but they closed the case without any further leads,” said one anonymous resident.
