A pizzeria with a unique twist has been given full marks for its food hygiene in its first-ever inspection.

Indian Pizza Fusion opened on Havelock Street in September and has been wowing customers ever since with its unique blend of cultures and cuisines.

Kartheek Naraharisetty’s new restaurant gives town residents the chance to try Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, Madras, and Vindaloo on pizza dough baked in-house.

The eatery has now earned a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating following an inspection on Thursday, November 16.

Swindon Borough Council’s Environmental Health team found the eatery to have “very good” food hygiene across the board.

This included Indian Pizza Fusion’s hygienic food handling which includes preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

The restaurant’s management of food safety was also praised which refers to having a system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat.

It also covers whether there is evidence that staff know about food safety and that the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.

Also commended was the cleanliness and condition of facilities and buildings which regards having the appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
