A new bar, restaurant and nightclub will be opening in Swindon town centre soon.

For the last few months, a building that has sat empty in Fleet Street for some time has been slowly transformed into two separate venues.

Numbers 2-4 Fleet Street, directly opposite the Drink Valley microbrewery, will soon be The Cow - a bar and restaurant selling a variety of English pub grub and Nepalese cuisine - and Yolo - a 'premium' nightclub that will also host live music and themed events.

Workers have been turning the derelict building into two new establishments, with The Cow set to be situated on the ground floor, and Yolo upstairs.

One of those responsible for bringing these buildings back to life was Cristiano Novais, 27, who will manage the venture when it is open and has a long history of working in hospitality within the town.

"We want to help bring this area of town back to life," he said.

"We want to get people back and bring something different. We have the Wetherspoon next door, Drink Valley across the way, hopefully, we can all work together with everyone to bring life back here."

The area that these new venues will soon be calling home was once a bustling hive of nightlife revellers but over the last few years, it has seen many of the once thriving bars and clubs close.

The building itself has a storied past in Swindon with the upstairs venue formerly being known as The Box nightclub and before that, it was known as Pop, Sin and Reflex at various points.

The downstairs will be known to some as Bushwackers and O'Neils before that.

"The building hasn't been in use for eight years and it had been left in a bit of a state - we've replaced the flooring of the ground floor and ripped everything out and replaced it in the club.

"But, we think it will all be worth it."

Once fully up and running, it will be open five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday.

It will be open 5pm to 3am Wednesday to Thursday, 3pm to 3am Friday and Saturday and 2pm to 1am on Sunday.
