Tributes have been paid to Wroughton parish councillor Jeremy Kemble, who has died "unexpectedly".

A post on Facebook from the chair of Wroughton Parish Council, John Hewer, confirmed the news just a few days before Christmas.

He went on to praise Jeremy - who was on the parish council's planning and highways committee -  for his contributions to the Wroughton community.

Mr Hewer said: "As Chair of Wroughton Parish Council, and on behalf of the Wroughton Parish Council staff and councillors, we are devastated to hear of the sad and unexpected passing of Cllr Jeremy Kemble.

"Jeremy will be missed as a very valuable councillor and an active member of the Wroughton History Group, his knowledge of Wroughton's history and attention to detail with the planning was always much welcomed.

"Our sincere thoughts and condolences go to Jeremy's wife Rita, his daughters Catherine and Rebecca and their wider family and friends."

Jeremy was co-opted into Wroughton Parish Council in 2021 and was co-opted again in November 2023.
