A new 'premier venue' is set to open in Swindon this weekend, just in time for the new year.

The Cow, on Fleet Street, is set to open with a New Year's Eve party on Sunday evening.

In the past few months, work has been underway to transform the once bustling nightlife building, which has sat empty for several years, into a new bar/restaurant.

A post on the new venue's Facebook page is advertising its public opening with a 'New Year's Eve Grand Dance Party' which it is also calling its 'grand soft opening'.

It said: "Let's Celebrate together and welcome 2024 in a grand way. We would like to invite all the party lovers."

Many DJs will be at hand to provide music and there will also be prizes for the best dancers - male, female and couple - and best dress up.

Advance tickets are £10 in advance and include a free drink and can be purchased online.

Tickets will be available on the day on a first come first served basis, and ladies can enter for free until 11.30pm.

A spokesperson for the new venture said: "Make sure you book your tickets early to get them for the best price and not to be missed memorable event

"Contact us by social media DM or call us on 07972891099 or email us at thecowswindon@gmail.com to get booked in."

The venue will be known to some as the former Bushwackers and O'Neils before that.
