A man has been arrested after a teenager missing from Wiltshire for more than 48 hours has been found.

Leah Mullins was last seen getting into a car outside a pub on Sherston High Street near Malmesbury on Friday evening, police said.

Detectives from Wiltshire Police launched an urgent missing person investigation to find the 14-year-old.

Officers confirmed on Sunday evening that the teen had been found safe and well at a property outside of Wiltshire.

On New Year’s Eve, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “This evening officers found Leah at a property out of the county and she is now safely in police care.

“A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction and is in police custody for questioning.

“Thanks for sharing our appeal.”

Leah was found on the same evening that her mother Sarah publicly appealed to locate her daughter.

She said: “Leah is a 14-year-old, vulnerable girl who has been away from her family for nearly 48 hours. If anyone has any suspicions, please contact 999.

"Leah if you can see this, then please come home, or contact someone and let them know that you are safe and well.

"We miss you and love you so much. You are not in any trouble and we are extremely concerned about you.”
