Motorists across Swindon and Wiltshire have several road closures to contend with at the start of the New Year.

Two of the busiest routes in the county, the M4 and A419, are affected by the road works in the opening weeks of the year.

The M4 Junction 15 will see lane closures in both directions from 8pm on Thursday, January 4 until 6am on Friday, January 5.

There will be slight delays of under 10 minutes due to barrier repairs.

A lane closure will be in place for electrical works on the westbound carriageway from Junction 15 to 16 on the M4 will also be closed from 9pm on Thursday, January 11, to 5am on Friday, January 12.

From 10pm on Monday, January 15 to 6am on Tuesday, January 16, the M4 westbound will be closed between Junction 15 to Junction 16 for drainage works

The suggested diversion is via A419, A4259, A4289, B4289, B4006, A3102, before re-joining the M4 at junction 16.

From 8pm on Monday, January 8 to 6am on Saturday, January 13, the A419 northbound carriageway will be closed at the Turnpike junction, causing moderate delays of 10 to 30 minutes.
