Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following reports of a stabbing and alleged threats with a firearm in Devizes.

Officers responded to 999 calls from Long Street in the town’s centre at around 2am on Wednesday, January 3, and put a cordon in place for most of the day while forensic investigation work was carried out.

Paramedics took a man in his 30s to hospital, where he was treated for knife wounds to his arm which are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening. He has since been discharged from hospital.

A 15-year-old boy from Devizes has been released on bail after originally being arrested on suspicion of GBH and robbery.

On Thursday morning, police arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of GBH and robbery who remains in custody for questioning.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
