The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.

MOTORWAY: Kaine Murray, of Fane Way in Maidenhead, has been sentenced for speeding on the M4 near Swindon.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW 520D along the motorway at more than 70mph on April 13, 2023.

He received a 28-day driving ban and must pay a £613 fine along with £90 in court costs and £245 to fund victim services.

MOTORWAY: Ryan Sage, of Church Street in Newport, has been sentenced for speeding on the M4 near Swindon.

The 27-year-old drove between Junctions 16 and 17 at more than 70mph on April 5, 2023.

He received a 28-day driving ban and must pay a £417 fine along with £90 in court costs and £167 to fund victim services.

FERNDALE: Hamza Muhammad, of Ferndale Road, has been sentenced for allowing someone else to drive his car without insurance.

The 25-year-old permitted a woman to use a Honda Civic on Mead Way on April 14, 2023, without having a policy in place that covered third party risks.

He received a six-month driving ban and a £660 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs plus £264 to fund victim services.

KINGSHILL: Oleg Sandu, of William Street, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 29-year-old drove a Ford Transit along the A346 in Chiseldon on February 6, 2023 without a valid licence or insurance.

He received a six-month driving ban and a £660 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs plus £264 to fund victim services.

MOTORWAY: Stiven Bregu, of Wells Road in Bristol, has been sentenced for speeding on the M4 near Swindon.

The 22-year-old drove a BMW 420D between Junctions 17 and 16 without due care and attention at more than 70mph on March 22, 2023.

He has been banned from driving for 56 days, fined £384, and ordered to pay £90 in court costs as well as £154 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Albano Menezes, of Armstrong Street, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 54-year-old drove a Mazda 6 along Dorcan Way on March 15, 2023, without a valid licence or insurance, and ignored a red traffic light on the same road.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a £320 fine as well as £90 in court costs and £128 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Christopher Harvey, of Patchway, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 46-year-old drove a Vauxhall Astra along Hungerdown Lane on January 5, 2023, without a valid licence or insurance policy in place.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £660, and ordered to pay £90 in court costs as well as £264 to fund victim services.

AMESBURY: Nicholas Showering, of Church Street in Wells, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 34-year-old drove a BMW 335D along the A303 on April 8, 2023 without insurance and while using a handheld mobile phone.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £885 as well as £90 in court costs plus £354 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Jodie Howells, of Derriads Green, has been sentenced for causing actual bodily harm.

The 35-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a woman in Chippenham on July 30, 2023.

She must pay her victim £100 in compensation, carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, and pay £85 of court costs and £114 to fund victim services.

DEVIZES: Leo Barlow, of Mayenne Place in Devizes, pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

The 20-year-old assaulted a man in Marlborough on July 28, 2022. He must pay a £120 fine as well as £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
